Petting Zoo

Delight your children with the chance to get up close and personal with a bunch of farm animals. They can pet goats, listen to the quacks of ducks, observe playful piglets, see cows, and potentially even meet a cuddly llama. This interactive experience is sure to create cherished memories. Bring your family to the petting zoo and allow your children to bond with these lovable creatures.

 

Quilt Show

The Janice Mason Art Museum will host a beautiful showcase of handcrafted quilts, celebrating the artistry and heritage of Trigg County. For an entry fee of just one dollar, which benefits the Trigg County Quilter’s Guild, you can admire the intricate patterns and designs on display.

Country Ham Show

Join the Trigg County Country Ham Show, a tradition that celebrates the pride and skill of local ham producers. From 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, you can see all the entries, and the winners will be announced at noon.

Country Ham & Biscuit Eating Contest

Contestants will compete to see who can eat the most ham and biscuits, with a $2,500 prize going to the winner’s charity of choice. Festival attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite celebrity contestant.

Kentucky's Largest Country Ham Biscuit

The community brings this massive biscuit to life each year. The baking starts bright and early on Saturday morning. By 11am, volunteers have divided the giant biscuit into servings, ready for festival-goers to savor. Don’t miss this giant community bake that fills downtown with the smell of fresh country ham and biscuits!

The time has come for those with the most magnificent facial hair and the most daring hairstyles to step into the spotlight! Do you possess a beard that could rival the most seasoned lumberjack? Or perhaps you’ve cultivated a mullet that would make Billy Ray Cyrus green with envy? If so, then this contest is your chance to shine!

Canoe Race

Grab a partner and get ready for the Little River Canoe Race on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Two-person teams will paddle their way down the river for a chance to win prizes and bragging rights, with canoes and transportation to the starting point provided.

Hog Callin' Contest

Get ready to show off your vocal skills at the Hog Calling Contest on Saturday, October 11, at 4:00 p.m. There will be categories for both kids and adults, with prizes awarded for the loudest and most convincing calls.

Demonstrations & Talks

Learn the traditional art of curing country ham with Trigg County Home Extension Agent Chelsey Redd and other local experts. Following the demonstration, stick around for a cooking class led by Josh Poling, owner of Broadbent B&B Foods, who will share tips and techniques for preparing one of Kentucky’s favorite delicacies.
